Managing AngerHave you ever felt like the woman in the image above?! More specifically, have you let your middle fingers fly?! Managing anger can be exceedingly difficult! I was recently sitting in Starbucks and overheard two women talking together. One was sharing how a friend angered her so much by lying to her.

I quickly felt for her because dealing with anger is not easy. When you feel as though someone wronged you, anger comes upon you like a storm, fast and furious. It not only robs you of precious time and energy but also hurts you both physically and emotionally.

The thing is, I believe life is way too short to allow anyone to rob us of our time and energy! So next time you find yourself starting to see red, I am urging you to pause. Instead of allowing anger to drive the bus, I want you to close your eyes and breathe in and breathe out. {{first_name}}, say the words, “breathe in, breathe out, no fear, no doubt.” Repeat a few times to truly center yourself. This calming mantra will help lower your heart rate and calm your nerves. 🧘‍♀️

You are angry because someone angered you. That seems simple enough, but the reality is, the person that angered you is also fearful and hurting. There is a saying that I want to share: only hurting people hurt people. When you choose to react in anger and hatred toward that person, you too are becoming exactly what you despise most, judgy and unkind.😬

Managing Anger Seems Hard!

Managing anger does not have to be hard! Try to settle down, breathe, and consciously place yourself in a present, peaceful state. Being present will give you back your power! The downtime also allows you to see that neither you or the other person are beautiful when they act in negative, hurtful ways. Breathe in, breathe out, no fear, no doubt.

When you focus on your breath, it opens you up, calms you down, and just as importantly, allows you to see possibilities. Possibilities such as why your friend is acting the way she is, and how you would act if you were in her shoes. Being open to possibilities also gives you grace. Grace, that motivates you to be kinder to yourself and to reach out and do something kind for someone else.

Remember, we often judge others by their actions and ourselves by our intentions. If we pause when we feel anger and breathe, this opens up room to see precisely what we don’t want to become or have in our lives. 🌟

Lead with love, breath, and let go. This is a recipe for a clear mind, mental health, and happiness every single day. 🏆 🥇
